Tanker hoses - Page 2

A tanker hose is a hose that is used for loading and unloading tankers. In addition, it is used in industrial plants and refineries, i.e. wherever robust and flexible hoses are required. In our offer, you will find several types of products for different purposes. Each of them is characterised by the highest quality workmanship. Always select a hose to suit the medium to be transported. According to it, you can choose hoses made of different materials (primarily PVC, but also NBR rubber and EPDM rubber) and with a different construction. Some have a uniform single layer, while the structure of others consists of three layers. In addition, the reinforcement can also vary from textile and steel braid to spiral reinforcement.

Tanker hoses - Fuel & food grade tanker hoses

How is a tanker hose constructed?

Tanker hose is constructed very similarly to other hoses, but in many cases are distinguished by their larger diameter. Their structure consists of three layers:

  • inner,
  • reinforcement,
  • outer.

When it comes to the inner and outer layers, in many hoses they are made of the same material. The only exception to this are special purpose hoses, the inner walls of which must have certain characteristics (e.g. food grade tanker hoses).

As far as reinforcement is concerned, it is most often in the form of a textile, synthetic, or metal braid. Its main role is to increase the strength of the hose (e.g. in terms of working pressure).

Finally, it is worth mentioning that some unloading hoses allow not only pumping but also suction of the medium. They are therefore distinguished from others by the fact that they have additional reinforcement in the form of a spiral (steel or plastic).

What are the different types of a tanker hose?

We distinguish different types of a tanker hose primarily according to the medium for which they are adapted. Therefore, the main types of these hoses are:

As you may have guessed, each of these will differ in the material used to manufacture the hose. For example, food grade hoses must comply with the relevant standards for handling foodstuffs, while fuel hoses and oil hoses must be resistant to the substances contained in the medium.

How do I choose hoses for unloading tankers?

When you are choosing a drain tanker hose, first and foremost be guided by the type of medium you are working with Furthermore, note that even within a specific category (e.g. fuel and oil hoses) you have several types of hose available.

Therefore, consider the parameters of the hose next.

Keeping with the example of fuel hoses, check the resistance of the product in question to the aromatic hydrocarbon content of the fuel or special oil additives. Also pay attention to electrostatic charge protection, which is very important in explosive areas.  Select the appropriate tanker fitting resistant to a specific medium.

In addition to the above, there are other issues, such as parameters like:

  • maximum operating temperature,
  • working pressure,
  • bending radius,

FAQ

How much do tanker hoses for unloading cost?

arrow-up

When it comes to tanker hoses for unloading, the price depends primarily on the type of hose, its diameter and length. Therefore, in most cases, pricing is provided individually for each customer.

Where are tanker hoses used?

arrow-up

Tanker hoses are used wherever regular loading or unloading of tanks is necessary. In addition, this type of hose is also often used in industrial plants and refineries, i.e. places where robust and flexible hoses with a large (although not always) diameter are needed.

Does the tanker handling hose need to be washed?

arrow-up

Regular cleaning of the hose ensures that it retains its properties longer, i.e. extends its life. Therefore, washing, although not necessary in many cases, is certainly useful for practical and financial reasons.
