Industrial hoses
What are the different materials from which industrial hoses are built?
Industrial hoses are built from multiple popular materials such as plastics, rubber or metal. The first are the plastics with the highest performance properties, namely PVC (c), PU (polyurethane) and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer).
In addition to these, rubbers and their blends are very popular, i.e. mainly NR (natural rubber), NBR (nitrile), SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber), EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer), CR (chloroprene rubber) and IIR (butylene rubber).
The last of the most common materials is metal (primarily stainless steel). These types of industrial hoses are characterised by their versatility.
Which applications are industrial hoses used for?
Industrial hoses are suitable for a great many applications. In our range, you will find:
- water hoses - this category is very wide as it includes industrial water, tap water, seawater, etc;
- hot water hoses - in this group you will find primarily hoses resistant to high temperatures;
- food hoses - these are hoses made from a variety of materials that meet European and national standards for the transport of both liquids and food granules;
- air compressor hoses - this category includes hoses that are designed to operate at very high operating pressures;
- industrial welding hoses - distinguished by the parameters necessary for the transfer of media associated with various welding technologies;
- industrial ventilation hoses - for the extraction of gases (including toxic and dangerous ones);
- chemical hoses - this type of hose has a special inner coating that is resistant to acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, etc.;
- industrial hoses for cable protection - function as protection in electrical installations;
- abrasion resistant hoses - are made of abrasion resistant material.
No matter what model of industrial hose you need, the products from our shop will serve you for many years. The reason for this is that each of them is made very precisely and from properly selected materials, which translates into high durability and resilience - both in working with different media and in contact with changing external conditions.
Our hoses can handle even the most difficult circumstances.
What to look for when choosing industrial hoses?
To select the right industrial hoses, take a few important considerations into account. These include:
- type of medium to be transmitted - this is the most important issue, as you choose the material, strength and chemical resistance of the hose based on the medium;
- operating temperature range - an inappropriate temperature for the hose will lead to structural damage and breakage;
- minimum and maximum operating pressure - a wrong choice of the industrial hose in this regard can lead to failure (e.g. bursting of the hose);
- DN (nominal diameter) - too small will lead to pressure loss, while too large will increase the weight and cost of the installation;
- hose length - the optimum hose length for the installation will ensure the most efficient operation.
FAQ
What are industrial hoses?
Industrial hoses include a very wide range of products from almost all areas of industry - apart from hydraulics. There are hoses for air, water, food, chemicals, petrol and a myriad of other substances.
What are industrial hoses used for?
Industrial hoses are used to transfer a wide variety of substances, including fluids and gases for pneumatic, hydraulic or process applications. They are also very often used for specialised work in heavy industry, such as mining, geotechnics and construction.
What type of hoses for high-pressure applications?
For high-pressure applications, special hydraulic hoses are used that operate at a maximum working pressure of up to 6000 psi. Such hoses are usually an inch in diameter and meet specific standards.
